Utah

After DC we headed to Utah to see fam... we are NEVER there long enough and realize as I'm posting pictures I NEVER take enough pictures .. we usually don't do anything to exciting just shopping, eating and hangin around and chatting - which are all great- so I always forget to snap pictures here and there!
This is Wes' granma Bonnie We went to visit her on her farm and Morgan loved it... so many neat things and trinkets hangin around!

Rigdon had his first foods while we were there and was not fond of it at all

Holly, Isabelle and Riggs ... love this picture!

Wes was showing everyone our pictures of DC

We dropped Wes off at Cabelas and Mom and I took the kids to a pumpkin patch. So fun! I wish they had those things up here! Morgan was excited bout all the pumpkins!

Our little guy was happy just hanging out

I think I have few life long friends, but my friend Melanie is just one of those girls that I love so much! We met her there with her two boys that are the same age as my little ones... this is one of the reasons I wish I could stay longer... I such good friends that I never get to see, never enough time to see everyone :(
Morgan had the time of his life while we were in Utah, he napped in the car alot!
Rigdon is so funny! His legs were too big to fit in the bumbo... it was so tight! He had a blowout every time we put him in it, so he only sat in there twice... we learned out lesson! No bumbo for Riggs!
Morgan had Arza wrapped around his finger, he still talks about him... 6 weeks later... so funny!

We had a game night, I love those!

Isabelle had her birthday while we were there. That was one crazy night! Morgan remembers the party and tells me he wants a birthday! So cute!
They carved pumpkins that night and they turned out soo cool!
They have way cool parks everywhere down there.. unlike up here! Morgan had a blast!

We had so much fun while we were there. We had a girls night, Wes and I went on a date (yeah), I went down to the family history center, the food is always a highlight and Mom and OK got sealed in the temple while we were there. We are so glad we were able to be there for it. Im so thankful for being part of an eternal family. Knowing that I get to spend forever with my best friend, those sweet little ones, and being with my most favorite people.
I also got to spend alot of time with my ol' sis Holly, she's actually my step sister but I don't think I can even bring myself to call her that. She is just so stinkin' awesome and an amazing example; especially after all that her and her little family have been through this year, with my nephew Spencer. I'm already bad with words so trying to put into words how I feel about all the tiny and huge miracles that all our family has experienced this year is just not happening. So glad I got to spend time with everyone, to get to know each other even better, LOVE all of them so much.

Washington DC

This post has been a long time coming.. I was dreading uploading all these pictures
but I finally did... so... Here is our DC trip!
This was at our new nieces baby blessing

This is Sienna, cute huh!

1st on our agenda was the Holocaust museum, because we have heard
so much about it. It was defiantly an emotional experience and
we both were maddened by such horrible things. There was so much
information you could spend a week in there. We were lucky that we
went the same time as Wes' parents and only took Rigdon with us, Morgan
would have been a nightmare. They took him to the Natural History museum and met up with them later; Wes had to see those dinosaurs!

In every picture we took in the dinosaur exhibits he is not looking,
to excited about everything that's
around I guess! Its so crazy how old those bones
really are... and they are real! Crazy!

Hope diamond.... so pretty
These kiddos are only 4 months apart... Rigdon was 3x her size!
She is so little 6 lbs somethin
and then Riggs 18 somethin!
Jeremy thought we put sausages in his bottles :)
Wes' bother Jeremy works for Don Young so we got a tour of his office and the capital
This totem was in Ted Stevens office and it was given to Congressman Young
when he didn't get elected.. I guess a village made it for him years ago
I don't know what its called but this mallet
was made out of a whale penis!
This sculpture of Washington
was in the Capital building, there was a cool story with it... I think it was the oldest original
piece in the capital. The picture below, is the dome of the capital.

This set of stairs, when congress in in session only congressman can go up these stairs. Pretty cool, we were there during one of their breaks. The stairs are marble and you can see the ware on the treads from hundreds of years of people walking up and down them ... really cool
We went to Arlington, which was really neat. Here is the changing of the guard that we were able to see and the tomb of the unknown soldier.
The grave of Kennedy and his wife, and the eternal flame.

Washington Memorial
Capital building

We stopped by the American history museum and they had
a bunch of cool things in there
They had a section that was all on the wars that American has
gone through... this was George Washington's sword! Cool!

They actually had a Hewie in the museum! I took this picture cause my grandpa Averett served in the Vietnam War and flew Hewies.
Jer & Jess live really close to Chesapeake Beach... Morgan LOVED it

After all the adult stuff we decided to make a kid day... and go to the zoo
both boys loved it...

The gorillas where my favorite... its so crazy
how they act like humans in so many ways.
Can you see the animal in this picture?!

We decided to do a night tour of all the monuments,
we heard it was a spiritual experience.
We were so glad we got to see everything all lit up, it is such a special place.
Korean War Memorial

Lincoln Memorial

I know the picture is blurry but it looked so cool with the capital in the background

World War II Memorial
The last day we were there we went to Mt Vernon, ended up being my favorite place of all. George Washington's Plantation. So peaceful and what view he had. Its pretty amazing how well preserved they have kept everything. Its too bad we were in such a hurry, we could have stayed there all day. Next time we go back that will defiantly be on the itinerary again.

This last picture is his tomb and behind the little black door is 25 of his posterity.
What a great trip we had, thanks so Jer and Jess for letting us invade their home when their life has been turned upside down! Thanks to Wes' parents for renting a car helping with the kiddos so we could enjoy such an fun filled trip. We are so glad we made the desicion to go. I came home so grateful for this wonderful FREE county that we live in; How truly inspired our four fathers were.
